Do you want your pupils to be the new champions of a creative competition hosted by literacy app Pickatale and leading education consultant Baasit Siddiqui? We are on a mission to promote reading for pleasure across the UK, and we need your help!
Can your Year 5 class wow us with their creativity and teamwork, to produce enthralling trailers for their favourite books? It’s easy, it’s free and best of all you could be the winners of top prizes including new electronic whiteboards!
What is Books on the Box?
Books on the box is a National competition for Year 5 children, designed by Pickatale and education consultant, Baasit Siddiqui.
The free to enter competition highlights the importance of reading for pleasure, through an engaging, creative, teamwork based project.
With a ready-made project and lesson plan, teachers will:
Discuss what makes a trailer successful
Talk about the importance of reading
Look at the children’s favourite books
Have children storyboard trailers
Watch children create their very own book trailers, using free apps
Submit your class’ entries and we’ll pick our favourite, crowning the 2022/23 winners!
There are lots of prizes on offer for both students that enter and schools that take part!
